If you’ve been at Falmer Station recently, you may have noticed the platforms looking a little more colourful! Volunteers from Gardening In Action have been busy refreshing the flower borders, bringing colour and life to the station for both passengers and pollinators.
The station’s borders have been replanted with a mix of hardy, pollinator-friendly flowers – chosen to thrive in tough conditions. We’ve also taken over care of the nearby Bee Trust borders, and you’ll start to see some new planting and improvements taking shape there too. Our thanks to the Southeast Community Rail Partnership for their support.
We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to lend a hand with the station garden – whether you're a keen gardener or would just like to get outdoors for a bit. No experience needed. We’ll be running short, friendly and relaxed sessions – ideal for lunch breaks – and would love to hear from you if you’d like to get involved.
